Shopping day!

 In Non classifié(e)

Everybody knows that Barcelona is a great shopping city, with a huge offer totally impossible to completely handle, and all people coming for that reason knows about our Passeig de Gràcia and Diagonal Avenue, downtown commercial axes where the best and more excusive brands, either national and international are located, same as several culturally interesting buildings, and some of our best restaurants.
There are also a lot of shopping centers in the area where to find all the “prêt-à-porter” brands you can think about.

Several of those shopping malls are into the city, and have all kind of services at your disposal, plus a huge gastronomic offer, big enough to cover all your needs or wishes, either in price or quality. Sunday or holiday? Not a problem, Maremagnum at the Port Vell, or l’Ànec Blau in Castelldefels, 25 kms South of Barcelona, are open all days.
Also 25 kms out of the city but in the opposite direction is located La Roca Village. It’s a big outlet shops complex built in a mediterranean town looking-like, where dozens of exclusive brands show their old seasons products and make all kind of offers and discounts. The place has also at your disposal, of course, all needed services and restaurants, so it’s ideal to spend a shopping day with no issues on displacements or parking.
If you are not interested in what everyone is wearing, if you are more for alternative or local designers, you may should go to the Gothic Quarter, where there still shops like that, despite the pressure of big brands which are starting to arrive to the area.

But if what you want to enjoy is something really different, open your mind, and your acting range.
Out of Barcelona, Sitges has an amazing commercial avenue with almost exclusively local designers, besides being a well known town for its beaches, museums and great hotels and restaurants.
Catalunya is also a Street markets country, almost every town has a clothes and food one. But there are also a lot of antiques, second hand stuff and collecting. In Barcelona, almost every quarter has one of those monthly, so it’s interesting getting information on arrival. But the most important, weekly all of them, are the ones at Plaça Reial and Sant Antoni on Sundays, And the one at Drassanes on Saturdays and Sundays.
Out of the city there are many more, but the most important, for being also once a week, are Mercantic in Sant Cugat, and the ones in Sabadell, Terrassa, Granollers, Santa Susanna, Vic and Vilanova i la Geltrú.
And it doesn’t ends here. At the Girona province, it exists a small zone well known por its works in ceramics. We are talking about very small towns, nice to visit, of which the most famous are Breda and La Bisbal d’Empordà.

Whatever is the town where you are spending your vacation, get the information about its market or the ones in the towns around. Regardless of the interest that moves us, what we are looking for, a simple walk, or a whole shopping day, or even a couple of days to study the different possibilities, whatever we are searching for, we will be able to find it.
